Stronger than “responsible” or “carbon neutral”:

“Eco-positive" should be used when a process has a stronger positive impact on the environment than a negative one and can help regenerate ecosystems.

This ecological footprint “Holy grail” takes into consideration not only the carbon impact, but also the emissions of other greenhouse gases, the possible effects on biodiversity, eco-systemic services, reforestation, etc.

The notion of eco-positivity ensures that, once all the criteria has been evaluated, the Planet is also a winner from the benefit of the anthropic activity.

Unfortunately, almost no human activity can be qualified as

“eco-positive”.

And even though the terminology “carbon neutral” is more widely used, the truth of the matter is that carbon neutrality is not enough to describe fully a real protection of the environment.
